Scottish / Grampian Rebrand

The last remaining few days for ScottishTV as it is. As of Monday, Jan 6th we will be getting the following new idents:

and also Scotland Today is getting a new look, although I think that this is a complete waste as they have a good looking studio as it is.

Anyone got pics of the new studio?

Ah well, soon it will be ITV1 Scotland the way things as going...

At least the idents have a different look to the awful ITV1 ones - I assumed they'd just be adopting those in the same way as UTV.

I agree that the current Scotland Today look isn't bad - nice and modern, and pretty stylish. Still, it'll be interesting to see what they come up with on Monday.

Having seen the trailers I think the new titles are a bit like North Tonight's (the map of Scotland in the background) and they aren't completely changing the music only remixing it

From the Scotland Today promo, it looks like they're heading back to the same colours as 1998. I liked the 1998 studio and the titles were not too bad either.

I'd prefer Scottish TV than ITV1 Scotland. Bring back Scottish Televison and the thistle!

Does anybody have any pictures or know of any trailers for the new look studio. I don't know why they are getting rid of that studio it has only been there for two years.

I was thinking a few months ago that it would be stupid to bring back the thistle. Now I think it would be brilliant, if it was used right it could be brilliant (i.e. like the NBC Logo). Doubt it will ever happen though.

Last summer STV redid the Scotland Today set so they could have images on the backgound set ie .
Scotland Today .

You can see the diffrences in the picture of the sets above the image of Louise and Andrea were on the first set .And the images of John and Sarah are the newer set the first set always looked quite blurry i thought .

Also the weekend they were changing sets round about Aug 2001 - i remember watching Becky Hunter read the bulletins over the weekend and she was looking down towards the bottom of the camera all the time as oppose to the camera lense and autocue .Not sure where the autocue exactly was that weekend .

The set they have been using all this week the lighting is very bad as all the presenters that have been on look realy rough .

I wonder if it was studio E that used to be the invision continuity studio .

No photos I'm afraid, but I managed to get a brief look at the set today, and it looks very nice.

Much brighter than the old one - lots blues and purples in it - and it seems much bigger too. And it's got a big long sofa!

I got the impression that the news part of the programme might be presented by someone standing next to a plasma screen, but I could be wrong on that one. There's one or two more plasmas in the studio too, I definetly remember one on the right hand side of the soft area.

Sorry I can't be a bit more detailed about this, I blame the hangover...

So I presume that the sofa will probably be used for The Lunchtime Scotland Today.

...or as it's known in our house, "news? what news?"

Except for the 'Strathclyde Buses' bus in the titles that was totally out of date!

It'll be nice to see the new set, I never did like the current one. Blue's and Purple's certainly will be nicer than the blue and orange.
