Would the BBC etc be regarded as Foreign channels? (March 2013)

If Scotland voted yes to independence in 2014 how would BBC Scotland, ITV England etc be regarded. Would they still be regarded as domestic channels or would they treated as international stations.

BBC Scotland is a good example. Would they for example re-jig their output and create a BBC Scottish Service in the style of the World Service?

Stv will not change since it's new agreement with itv should allow everything to continue, I dare say some more opt out may be required.

Bbc. This should not change expert for a few more Scottish show.... big clue were do we all live? British isles that not going to change.

Discussed this quite in depth here and I think we concluded that we have no idea.

And of course the BBC stands for the British Isles Broadcasting Corporation, doesn't it?

STV not changing is highly unlikely. It'd be at the mercy of whatever the SNP create to replace Ofcom. They could extend its license to cover the Borders, they could take its license off it, if they felt like it. It would no longer be a part of ITV and would have to buy programmes from ITV externally like any other foreign channel.

Of course, this wouldn't be in 2014 anyway. Even if a yes vote does happen, which is still the long shot at this moment of time, Scotland wouldn't leave the UK quite so immediately.
