scotish tv might do an ITV yellow

Well the celebrity idents are very dull now. They've dumped the ITV ones and now only use the SMG versions.

I personally wouldn't mind ITV Plc-style presenation but remade to show some Scottish landmarks, rather than the full England and Wales package.


There will be new ones.............watch this space..............mind you it might be a wee while!!!

According to their annual review, there will be a new look along with new sets for news and sport this year.

Anyone know around what date they are moving. Also are ITV Scotland and BBC Scotland moving in at the same time and what is the pacific quay looking like atm?

I imagine the SMG regions having a mixture of the ITV1 filmed idents and some filmed themselves. Each with a logo something like this superimposed, instead of "ITV1". (grey area would be background film, not grey)

As the "scottish" (or "grampian" or "nightime") will stick out further towards the middle of the screen than "itv", the logo would have to be produced in a smaller size than the ITV1 version, so as to not overlap the "emotion" in the ident. The "tv" bit would be on the right hand side of the "emotion".

Yes, it's a sh*t quality mock, and it took me about 3-seconds to draw it (in MS Paint!). It's just meant to illustrate an idea, rather than be well realised. (i.e. yellow rectangle with rounded corners, "tv" written in exact same font as "itv" would be, "scottish"/"grampian"/"nightime" written in exact same font as "1" would be, etc etc)

That is a very clever idea of reversing the structure of the logo and would work for Scottish and Grampian TV!

I would like to see further expansion of this idea! I love it!

The break bumpers would use the same sliding-to-the-right movement as the ITV1 break bumper.

So, they would initially look like they say "scot", "gram" and "nigh" (!):

[scot[tv]
[gram[tv]
[nigh[tv]

...before the [tv] bit slides towards the right...

[scotti[tv]
[grampi[tv]
[nighti[tv]

...eventually revealing...

[scottish [tv]
[grampian [tv]
[nightime [tv]

... (of course!)

I really hope Scottish and Grampian have completely different idents - they ought to be proud to be independent, unlike the crap we have to put up with here in England.

I agree and for what its worth I think they will. If they were going to copy itv plc they would have done so by now.........

no they really wouldn't have done it by now. Scottish TV are never quick with anything - just look at the the current presentation. It is very old!
