I have ring Scottish, about new idents, and there said there were thinking about changing them to an ITV style , but there nothing planed and could take up to 6 months
I sent an email to smg a couple weeks ago asking about this and here is the reply I recieved

Lucky you......I sent Grampian an email asking about any new idents and new look North Tonight (as promised in their annual review) and I have yet to get a reply!!!

Your lucky. In ITV Meridian, we get the patronising 'I.T.V.P.L.C.' idents. I think it is gr8 that the celebrity image lives on, for just a little bit longer. We've not had celebrity idents for over a year now! The celebrity idents replaced the hearts. Which in-turn, replaced eighties' (late, but still eighties') continuity. I.T.V.P.L.C. has had two more revamps prior. It just makes me feel less old, that's all!

Well the celebrity idents are very dull now. They've dumped the ITV ones and now only use the SMG versions.
I personally wouldn't mind ITV Plc-style presenation but remade to show some Scottish landmarks, rather than the full England and Wales package.
