Sci Fi Channel UK rebranding

To adopt SyFy from April 13th. (February 2010)

According to Broadband TV News, Universal Networks’ Sci Fi is to rebrand as Syfy in the UK from 22.00 on Tuesday April 13. The new ABC remake of V will also showcase on the rebranded channel.

UKTV's rebrands would definitely beat it in the worst name change ever (with UKTVG2 taking the biscuit) but its definitely not a great name...

I think you have mixed up the rebrand rdd was referring to. I'm certain he was citing the UKG2 to UKTVG2 rebrand rather than the subsequent change to Dave.

Personally I'm used to it already, being a wrestling fan and having [the now retired] ECW mentioned to be broadcast on SyFy in the States for the last few months. Not only is it more modern and brand worthy, it doesn't have to be science fiction completely, and can branch off into other terratories as the US channel does.
