James Martin? - Oh dear god above, dont mention that name on TVF - LOL Very Happy Wink

HTV Wales are showing a regional prog called "The Food Show" the week after next (sounds thrilling does that" Rolling Eyes - but maybe SS could come back in 2004 if the regional slot is to be a regular thing? Maybe they are showing a back log of all the regional progs they have this side of Christmas and Shortland St could return in the New Year - im hoping so anyway!

I got this e-mail from Carlton;

We have no details of regional slots for 2004 which will probably only be decided after the merger is completed after January.

Kind Regards

DUTY OFFICE-WA

Geezus sending a blank e-mail would have been just as helpful - they must have some idea if YTV already have progs planned for their region, why cant Carlton just say yes or no Rolling Eyes

I hope if the regional slot does come back in 2004, that Carlton-Central and HTV show Shortland Street again as I really like that series.

I don't mean to be rude but why exactly do you care if Carlton Central show Shortie Street when you live in HTV land?

Surely the two are different questions. If you wanted to know if they had comissioned any new regional programmes for 2004 you should have asked, which would have got you a yes or no answer. Though they might say no now and the position change over the course of two months.

But it looks to me like you asked what times and days the regional programming will be on in 2004... which of course Carlton won't know as it's an ITV Network decision (and right now the two are different things still), and they don't plan scheduling that far in advance.

Because I know a number of people in the Central region who all love Shortland Street and would like to have it back. Remember the fanbase for Shortland St is in the Central England and Wales regions as they showed SS constantly from 1993/4-2003!

Lee, what I asked then was if the 2.30pm slot would become regional again in 2004 and if so would they consider showing Shortland St, and thats the reply I got.

Should have just asked if Shortland Street was likely to return at all.. you might have got a better answer because they if it was, they won't necessarily put it on the 2.30pm slot. It's been on after 5pm in the past.

I know, let's bring back Blockbusters with Bob Holness. No need to make a new series, just rerun the old episodes. It doesn't look *that* old does it, really? Be better than Dale and Shortie St Smile

It does look a poor show, the theme tune and opening titles look so cheap like its a regional programme.
The fact that it's made by "LNN Factuals" probably explains it, maybe it was originally meant to be a regional show for London?

Pratically the same people who made Bootsale Challenge, when they showed the Carlton version, then the Anglia version etc etc But from what I know LNN Factuals have made programmes for the network before. (According to TV Ark anyway)

They should really bring back the News at 5.40, as then they had no problem with teatime fillers, as there was always something decent at 5.10, 6.00 and 6.30 and ITV wouldn't be in this mess.

I think it would be a good idea to have Corrie and Emmerdale repeats during the day - not everyone has ITV2

Maybe if the 2-3pm slot isnt working they should consider giving those slots to the regions to do their own things like they used to.

It seems the daytime regional slot is coming back next year. I've noticed this on yorkshiretv.com

Gaynor Barnes and Nicola Crompton are returning with a new 15-episode series of Girl Talk next year.

The programme will run Monday to Friday at 2.30pm from January 26 to February 13, 2004.

The programme will retain it's mix of real-life stories and celebrity interviews, as well as fashion items and good old gossip. Interviews already recorded for the new series include chats with Craig David, Rachel Hunter and Christine Hamilton.

I can also confirm that there is a regional slot this side of christmas as well

Following its success last year, That’s Your Lot! returns for a brand new series this December. Presented by our very own quizmaster, Richard Whiteley, the second series will air at 2.30pm from Monday to Friday in the two weeks prior to Christmas beginning December 8th. If you’re an antiques aficionado, an avid collector, have an interest in antiques, or just enjoy a good game show, then That’s Your Lot! will appeal to you.
