Just happened to flick onto Gold and they're showing the special episode of the Good Life, where the Queen visits Television Centre (TC6) to watch the filming of an episode. You see the Queen and Duke arrive, go through stage door and then walk into TC6 where the floor manager shows the different sets and tells about the history of the show.

Was this a first, or did other TV shows (drama/comedy) do a similar introduction if it was a special episode.

Seriously though, I'm not sure there are any other entertainment/comedy shows where such a fuss was made. The Queen has of course made several visits to TVC and other BBC buildings over the years including this one to Pebble Mill:
