Or to quote the News Of The World's Ian Hyland; Simply The Chest
,it wasn't a bad idea, but it was far too long, plus the scheduling didn't go in it's favour, especially with the Final being aired at 3.30pm one Saturday..
I agree with that - if it had been put into an hour long slot and all the music and extra inserts been scrapped to focus on just the game, it would have been so much better. I certainly found it more entertaining than the dated It's a Knockout!
The FA Cup is actually one of the reasons why the BBC have given up on Saturday nights in the Winter as from January through to April every three weeks or so the schedule is interupted for live football!

It's not all bad in my opinion. Not great at the mo but in a couple of weeks BBC1 has a cracking line up on Saturday night:
4.50 Match of the Day Live
FA Cup Semi-Final: Chelsea vs Liverpool (5.15 ko)
Including Final Score

Strictly Come Dancing doesn't do it for me.

Come on everyone, its not that bad! Seems to be a case of 'it was much better in my day'!
In the end was Gladiators, Blind Date and Noel's House Party really better than Doctor Who, Strictly Come Dancing and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway???

It is a bit annoying that in the weeks they dont have Football they have very little. Maybe if they moved the kick-off times to a bit earlier, like 5.00 - they could do more. Although that would mess up Final Score and the News.
On another note, another great programme coming to Saturday nights this autumn is Robin Hood!

Saturday TV is REALLY getting worse and worse, but the question is - what's the worst it can get?
I hardly ever watch it on Sat night, as it's dire! the only things I watch are:
2.00pm: BBC Score Interative with Ray and the team
4.30pm: Sportscene with Stuart Cosgrove (Tam's co-presenter on Off the Ball) and guests
10.30: MOTD 2
I don't mind this because I'm football daft.
However, the point is, that schedules have to make more of an effort to produce some good quality programming for a Sat night. At this rate, everyone will have a reason to switch off and head for the pub/nightclubs.
Anyone agree?
