No. At least one night a week remains soap free - and many agree it's the best night of ITV's schedule at the moment!
I should think so as well! Soaps on Saturdays too would be even more ridiculous than it already is.
Wasn't The Bill on a Saturday evening for a long period - when they introduced the third 30 minute epsiode ???
Also long ago I always thought that The High Road would have made a fantastic early evening weekend soap (i.e. 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday)

well the viewing firgue said other wise:
STV had more people watching High road on a Monday than on a Sunday!
I still Blame Emmerdale for helping killing it off and ITV of course,
when it was taken off Network in 1990 it had one of the biggest complaint of programme times

The Bill was Tuesday, Thurs and Fri when it went 3 times a week i think. Even if it was a Saturday it doesnt count as a proper soap - same as Casualty being on a Saturday.

I remember it was on a Saturday once or twice, although this was no later than 1994, I only remember this as it was the only time when The Bill was credited as 'A Thames Television Production and An LWT Presentation for ITV'

The first time I remember it being on a Saturday it was Thames production for Yorkshire and then later it became a Thames for Carlton when it suddenly moved to a Friday night

I notice that ITV & BBC have been running ads this evening for their next singing / find a star / reality contests which look like will be going head to head in the next few weeks
Grease is the Word starts on Sat 7th April on ITV1, a week earlier than the BBC's Any Dream Will Do on the 14th.
Edit: I think it's the other way around Any Dream Will Do starting on 31st March, before / after Doctor Who.
