It looks like ITV will be cleaning up in the ratings from next week

5.10 New You've Been Framed
6.10 Harry Hill's TV Burp
6.40 Dancing on Ice
8.30 Pokerface
9.39 Dancing on Ice: Results
10.00 Al Murray's Happy Hour

As mentioned in this week's Radio Times, notice the comedy programming top and tailing the schedule as part of ITV's new attempts at Comedy in '07. They also admitted that it was the post-9pm part of Saturday nights that needed the most work

It looks like BBC1 have given up and are scheduling tired Weakest Link, Just for Laughs, Casualty and repeats of New Tricks and My Family

And let's not mention tonight's "Your Country needs you" Rolling Eyes

I think ITV will have done quite well tonight as well, with Harry Potter guaranteed high ratings.

I'm surprised they ran that tonight. Presumably they only have rights to it from 1/1/07?, or maybe they were trying to get their audience share for the year up early

Yeah, just what was the point of that? TV for the people who really don't go out. They even used the old Test the Nation set.

I think c4 will do pretty well with the showgirl homecoming tour though, its really good.

BBC One's schedules at the start of the year are hamstrung by the need to include FA Cup Football every 3 or 4 weeks.

Millionaire is a bit of an odd one for ITV now isn't it. It didn't have a regular slot in the autumn, the number of episodes have really been scaled back with Pokerface seemingly in what would be it's slot from next week. It seems to just be an occasional filler these days. Not that it's a bad thing, most seem to think it's past it's sell by date.

Very well done to ITV1 this Evening as they showed the third Harry Potter film (as mentioned above) which was inbetween the Soapstar Superstar Final (which I didn't watch).

Next week's schedule does look quite impressive! Although a couple of the programmes I won't be watching. (Also mentioned above). Their is a good chunk of comedy in the line-up too for next Saturday.

I'm glad ITV have cottoned on. It was consistently underperforming for some time. Better it's put out of its misery sooner rather than later.

Im also glad they have scaled down WWTBAM - its a very tired format now. Personally I dont like that Pokerface thing with Ant and Dec so wont be watching but at least it is something different to WWTBAM for Saturday nights.

I might watch Dancing on Ice though.

Dancing on Ice will probably do very well, especially since BBC One has a pretty dire schedule.

I quite liked Pokerface and glad it's returning in a weekly slot, rather than over seven nights. Presumably it'll be six heats and a final.

Millionaire - it's certainly not as safe as it once was, though IIRC ITV have recently extended the contract.

As I've said before, it's not the sort of show you go out of your way to watch anymore, but if there is nothing else on you will watch it. I think moving it to run in Spring/Summer rather than Autumn/Winter could be a good move.
