Now that Strictly Dance Fever has finished and Doctor Who is verging on its finale, what will the BBC have to offer? Will it be back to the old roots of repeated Only Fools and Horses or boring Weakest Link? What do you feel BBC or ITV need to introduce to spicen up Saturday nights? I feel ITV just now is shocking - Celebrity Love Island, what is all that about? And even though it was a great quiz show, I think they need to find something else rather than Millionaire. Same for BBC - give Casualty a rest, please!

What about a film or a piece of QUALITY drama? Not comedy episodes we have seen dozens of times and quiz shows + certain drama series being shown to death.

your thoughts.

YAY! Definately.

Talking of bearded Saturday Night TV presenters...bring back You Bet with Matthew Kelly! I was watching it on Challenge earlier and was a great hour of TV - used to watch it religiously when I was young.

What with such 1994 celebrities such as Pat Sharp then how can you go wrong!? They ruined it when the ultimate **** Darren Day took over.

It's great stuff - though Brucie was great on it too - especially when he'd come on and throw his hat and cane onto the hat stand. Love it.

BRING IT BACK!

Speaking of game shows, was Sunday's edition of Call My Bluff a new series or was it just an old repeat?

When it comes to the house party, it's amazing! It was hugely popular with big audiences at the time, yet when you ask people now, it's virtually impossible to find anyone who admits to watching it and thinks it was anything other than awful!

Wasn't that on Radio in South Africa?

Blockbusters would be good, but I have Challenge TV to cater for that need, ditto with Bullseye, Catchphrase and The Krypton Factor.

I've become fed up of Saturday Night TV now, I haven't watched/recorded anything off there for ages now, until last night, that's only because it was the Game Show moments and that I went out, which I far prefer doing.

After watching that game show doc on C4 yesterday, I want them all to return! We need more proper* gameshows, not farty ones like Millionaire and Weakest Link.

* ie with Bob Monkhouse running down some stairs at the start

I agree! You Bet! was perfect Saturday night television with Brucie and then with Matthew Kelly. I always thought Matthew Kelly was much better at presenting You Bet! than he was with Stars In Their Eyes telling embarrasing jokes and flashing waistcoats to the camera. Don't know why he gave You Bet! up in the 1st place?

I'm sure Matthew Kelly would be up for another bash at You Bet!. Wicked theme tune, wicked challenges and great hosts (apart from Darren Day). Darren did ruin it all. But it would be as fresh as it was then if it was put on now. Always used to watch it and would watch it again if it was on.

Noel too - come back - you were the best!

I can already see a problem with this. How's Monkhouse going to get down the stairs in his condition!
