They did exactly that with the second series of GM, that's how All-Star Family Fortunes came about.

I love it when people just make things up. All Star Family Fortunes was already on the air when the second serious of gameshow marathon started, and it didn't feature in it, I'm sure of it.

* First Episode of All Stars: 28 October 2006
* Second Series of GM : 7 April to 26 May 2007. ( as said no FF)

Just to give you the facts Razz

I do believe FF come back due to the fact of this programme http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2005/may/06/broadcasting.ITV2

Family Fortunes featured in the 29th October 2005 episode of the first series of the Gameshow Marathon, so it is highly likely that this is why the programme had a revival.

Blockbusters, Play Your Cards Right and Saturday Night Takeaway? Stop bringing back old programmes and start making decent new ones.

You say that like ITV can make decent new shows.

Win the ads was the whole point of the show. I actully like it

Well, it might have been the point of the show when it started, but it ended up being people you didn't know fluking their way to winning prizes. We'd only met the contestants about five seconds beforehand so you didn't care about them anyway and they usually guessed all the answers, so what's the point?

I appreciate it was important in the early runs because after Slap Bang which was just stuff happening for no rhyme or reason they needed a show with an actual format, but over the years it took on a much decreased role in proceedings, and because it was knocked off in five minutes it hardly seemed worth it. In the first series there were several rounds during the show, which wasn't particularly interesting but at least you knew who the contestants were and there was a logic to it, at the end it was just bolted on

As Takeaway continued there were far more interesting items like Ant vs Dec that would have made a much more interesting climax to the show. In fact all the items that were found to be fixed were the worst bits, the Jiggy Bank might have been fun for the contestants but looked bloody rubbish on screen, and apparently they vetted the callers for Grab The Ads despite the fact they said about three words.

Remind me, didn't they film a Christmas special that was so bad it didn't air 2/3 years ago, or was that mere DS mythology?

Well, they did do a Christmas show in 2009 which was broadcast, but it was really awful, people might say they want something like Noel's House Party coming back but they don't generally mean the awful comedy crosstalk at the door, which is more or less all we got. In addition it was stuffed with plugs for other ITV shows, they didn't go ten seconds without mentioning Britain's Got Talent, I'm A Celebrity or The X Factor, it was outrageous.

I believe the Christmas special in question was a few years before that. The one in 2009 was a straight christmas show, but the "pulled" episode was a Christmas special of Saturday Night Takeaway which was filmed in October before Ant & Dec went to Aus for I'm a Celeb. I think it was in some early listings but was pulled in the final Radio Times etc
