TV has signed a new, exclusive two year deal with Ant and Dec which will extend the award winning duo’s long term relationship with the UK’s most successful commercial broadcaster through to December 2013.

The new deal will see Ant & Dec present new series of I’m A Celebrity…..Get Me Out Of Here and Britain’s Got Talent, alongside the return of the duo’s hit series Saturday Night Takeaway for a tenth run. A firm favourite with the British public, Saturday Night Takeaway has so far won four National TV Awards.

Ant & Dec joined ITV in 1998 presenting the Saturday morning shows SM:tv Live and CD:UK. They have been exclusively signed to the channel since 2000 and have won numerous awards including a staggering twelve National Television Awards (including Most Popular Entertainment Presenters for the last ten years in a row), six British Comedy Awards, three BAFTAs and a variety of other industry accolades.

Peter Fincham, ITV Director of Television, Channels and Online, said: “Ant and Dec remain at the very top of their game as two of the nation’s most popular television stars. Their ability to connect with our audience is unrivalled and I’m delighted that we’re extending our exclusive partnership with them both for a further two years.”

Ant said: "We are really pleased to sign with ITV for another two years and continue to make the programmes we love with the channel.”

Dec added: "We always said we would bring back Saturday Night Takeaway, so we’re particularly delighted plans are now in place. We have lots of fresh and exciting ideas for the brand new series."

Wow, I thought the format died years ago! Last series was a while back now wasn't it?!

Nearly three years now. Hopefully long enough to think through a refresh, as opposed to another reprieve of "Ant Vs Dec".

Remind me, didn't they film a Christmas special that was so bad it didn't air 2/3 years ago, or was that mere DS mythology?

And then there was that non-takeaway... thing... that was so bad and yet amazingly actually did air 2 years ago?

Hopefully they will refresh it as they did with the programme around the time that they introduced Ant vs Dec.
It definitely needs something, especially a refresh of the set in my opinion. Presumably Takeaway is returning as Push The Button didn't do as well as was hoped. It was a good gameshow, but for some reason the public didn't take to it.

What was interesting in relation to Ant & Dec was that when appearing on Celebrity Juice a few weeks ago, the biggest Ant & Dec themes used were Challenge Ant & a spoof on Wonkey Donkey, both of course from SM:TV, the only thing mentioned from takeaway was Little Ant & Dec.
One of the problems on the last series of takeaway for me was the use of too many VT's, with Ant vs Dec training and also the Celeb Prison Escape. Maybe there were too many lesser known celebrities. Let's just hope that they do away with the celebrity announcer, and other older elements on the show that should not have lasted as long as they did.

Presumably work has already begun for a series in the new year.

I do wonder why try haven't done another Ant & Dec Christmas Show. The one a few years ago was quite a nice programme, unless of course it didn't rate well.

Well, they did do a Christmas show in 2009 which was broadcast, but it was really awful, people might say they want something like Noel's House Party coming back but they don't generally mean the awful comedy crosstalk at the door, which is more or less all we got. In addition it was stuffed with plugs for other ITV shows, they didn't go ten seconds without mentioning Britain's Got Talent, I'm A Celebrity or The X Factor, it was outrageous.

Push The Button was a ropey format, they weren't in it enough for my liking and too much of it fell flat. Takeaway is the better show but I thought their next move would be to just do a show exactly the same, only called The Ant and Dec Show or something, so it didn't look like a backward step, in much the same way as The Graham Norton Show is just V Graham Norton again because the other formats he tried didn't work.

Be good if they could get rid of Win The Ads, it's the dullest bit of the show by miles. I'd have liked an Ant vs Dec series, actually.

I thought 'ugh, not again!' when I heard this but actually, you just reminded me that I did like the 'win the ads' bit!

Blockbusters, Play Your Cards Right and Saturday Night Takeaway? Stop bringing back old programmes and start making decent new ones. I do not know who commissioned 'High Stakes' as, due to the 'Heat Magazine' questions as 'clues', guarantees every contestant £25,000. The best gameshow format to come out this decade is 'Secret Fortune', although it could do with a better presenter.

Im very happy there going to bring back decent shows, instead of the crap there making today. Take your pick was from the 1950s and that got a decent run in the 90's. Duel was one of the better ones..

Slightly disagree as some of the older gameshows will always be classics and bring in the viewers - but there again it also depends on the presenters...

Blockbusters could work again but always with a more authurtarian figure - think ITN's Mark Austin could do the job well

Play your cards right and the best person for that could actually be Greggles

But I think the best gameshow format, so far, this decade has to be The Chase and Bradley Walsh is just about perfect as host.

I really enjoyed Ant and Decs Gameshow marathon during ITV's 50th birthday. They should look at bringing that back. It could be really good to see what is most popular and then commission a whole series of the most popular gameshow.

They did exactly that with the second series of GM, that's how All-Star Family Fortunes came about.
