So due to one selfish audience member, who would have been clearly told (numerous times I expect) not to have your TV on during the broadcast, just could not follow a clear simple instruction and causes all the highlighted sound issues.

Seriously! All this just because 1 person/family could not follow a simple instruction. I want my TV on so I will do what I want, even though I've been clearly told not to put it on. It's all about ME,ME,ME with some people.
It's like those who walk around with their nose sticking out of their mask....

Tad over the top. Someone made a mistake. Get over it.

Ask how he feels about a certain continuity announcer.

More like a complete refusal to follow a simple, clear, repeated several times, instruction to turn your telly off that 299 other families could follow, but this one couldn't.

If it was just one TV, then it should be something they can fix for next week. I'd have thought that after they worked it out, they could have reminded everyone during the ad breaks to turn off their TVs though.

They could insist on everyone listening with Bluetooth earphones or provide a headphone splitter to each household.

I think even if they did that, the chances of someone not messing it up is slim.

As long as they mute the audience at times when they're not needed then it shouldn't be a massive problem. Perhaps throwing in a bit of canned audience (if it's not already present) might help it out. Whilst it was noticeable, it wasn't the end of the world and they didn't do a bad job to make a show during a pandemic. It's really hard to make a show that usually has an audience and thrives on audience participation, but they managed to make it work and now they've got the first show out the way I think they'll be absolutely fine.

The first show was always going to be the hardest but I think they did OK. The content of the show was decent but they do need to fix the sound. If it was really just one household then I bet the producers were livid with whoever it was! Really it shouldn’t be difficult to follow simple instructions but I guess there’s only so much the producers can account for that.

I’m sure they’ll figure it out and improve it. It’s quite an achievement to pull it off really, even with a few glitches.

I'll admit that I couldn't properly get into last night's show, but folk have to appreciate that producing 90mins of live TV under all of these horrible restrictions is a very tricky thing. Everyone involved did absolutely brilliantly.

Whilst distancing is in place, it's never going to be normal SNT. Next year, however, this will all be a distant memory.

Always never liked the stigma of "Everything should be 100 percent perfect, even if it's the first time it's been put in place"

Anyone who thinks that, you might as well let the whole audience back in for free! Even during the pandemic!

Thought the show was good fun last night. Here's some background on the wall.

There was a TikTok video, which has disappeared, showing they had a floor manager giving audio cues for applause at the relevant points, long since gone.

Though you could see it was via a web browser with a next to none delay, via the url

Down now - suspect it’ll change next week!

Surely they’d be better to just have a canned mix next week with all the virtual audience on mute. As long as we can see them jeering in the background and hear the fake applause etc then I’m sure it will sound much better. That way it is the best of both worlds. Is it really beyond the realms of possibility for them to rip any key interaction parts from a previous ‘normal’ show to play in on top of the canned stuff at the relevant moments? eg ‘don’t just watch the adverts, WIN EM’. Then they can just unmute whoever is selected for Win the Ads.

I'd say real laughter five seconds late (not that it will be) is better than fully canned laughter on time. Someone pushing a button can never provide a realistic response.
