Oh come oh. This is a mess compaired to "normal" SNT.
You think it’s bad this week, I understands next weeks star guest announcer is an up and coming young chap from the ITV continuity department.
Can't wait for him to announce the show as "Caturday Flight Fakeaway"
Maybe turn over and watch something else instead?

Maybe they covered the one in the corridor because they are trying to get the public to associate TVC with ITV now, rather than the BBC. They use it in so much of their branding now (GMB, This Morning etc.)
Or maybe because a sign saying BBC in the background might have looked a tad odd to viewers at home in the content of those back stage sections
I bet those pictures of old episodes aren’t always on the walls either, and I also bet that room isn’t really Gary Barlow’s dressing room.

I enjoyed it, although I do think some of the segments need a refresh. That bit with the edible orchestra was annoying but I think that was for the kids so we can let it pass. But seriously, it felt like something from CBeebies and I hope they don’t do something like that again.

Just caught up with this on ITV Hub.
Think some of the criticisms here are rather nit-picky.
In my view, it was a good watch, considering it was a live show with a heck of a lot crammed into ninety minutes, and put together in tricky circumstances.
As someone who's been saying throughout the past eleven months that there's too much doom and gloom on TV and emphasising the need for some light relief to keep people's spirits up, I was delighted to see it back, and will look forward to the remainder of the series - slightly echoey audio from the video wall or not!
Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway is exactly the type of programme we need at the moment - stop finding niggles and just sit back and lose yourself in the silly nature of it all for ninety minutes!

Guess who's big in the back time!

Great sum up. Yes, there were issues - but on the whole they didn’t affect the show too much I’m sure they’ll be addressing them next week. Even the maligned audience sound mix was just a bit of a distraction in the grand scheme of things. IMO they’d be better off just fading out the audience completely when they’re not in vision, it doesn’t really add that much.
One thing that struck me was how natural some segments felt with a virtual participant/audience. Apart from the slight delay, I thought Win the Ads for example worked really well with the contestant sitting on their sofa at home. It had an immediacy and an excitement to it with a feeling that it genuinely could have been anyone competing, and I wonder if it might work better like that full time.
Visually I also love the audience wall, but I can’t help but picture a cheap talking heads nostalgia show on Channel 5 in 20 years time where a bunch of ageing Z List Celebs reminisce about pandemic TV and exclaim in disbelief that “All audiences had to be VIRTUAL?!” whilst badly ripped YouTube uploads from this episode illustrate the point in the incorrect aspect ratio.

In all seriousness though the issue was that one virtual audience member had turned their tv on, having watched it back you can hear it’s programme sound delayed by 10 seconds or so coming back into the mix. Fancy trying to find that person out of 300 and muting them?

To all the armchair pundits filling my timeline, if you’re suddenly leading experts in mixing hugely complex and unpredictable LE shows with live music and a minimum 12 clean feeds whilst still maintaining R128 compliance, put your efforts into sending your CVs to broadcasters 😝

So due to one selfish audience member, who would have been
clearly
told (numerous times I expect) not to have your TV on during the broadcast, just could not follow a clear simple instruction and causes all the highlighted sound issues.
Seriously! All this just because 1 person/family could not follow a simple instruction. I want my TV on so I will do what I want, even though I've been clearly told not to put it on. It's all about ME,ME,ME with some people.
It's like those who walk around with their nose sticking out of their mask....

Tad over the top. Someone made a mistake. Get over it.
