Obvious jump to "filmic"* look going into Little Ant and Dec. Pre-record?

Is that a new pair of little Ant and Dec

No it's the same ones from 6 years ago, but they've been wrapped tightly in bandages like Japanese girls' feet to stop them growing.

Very disappointing show tonight in my opinion. The multiple sketches with the Orchestra were not very funny, The obvious filmic effect for the pre-rec bits, and the noticeable non-appearance of Ant V Dec.
I'm guessing there may have been last-minute problems with the latter and then it was dropped, hence why there was so many sketches just trying to fill time.

It all felt very flat. I'm hoping this isn't how the rest of the series will pan out.

Tend to agree with most of that.

Very odd to have the fimic effect on the pre-records. Makes it so obvious (to some of us anyhow)

The Jeremy Kyle spoof near the start with Ant and Dec arguing who plays the piano certainly felt like a fill in.

The Blackpool game was very flat, just didn't work. Not helped by a 5 second delay

Back to the drawing board after last week's strong opener

Also, weren't that surprise 'superstar' family micced up very quickly and neatly for a live show.

I think they're going for a tactic of rotating features, in order for it not to get stale. I'd say it was deliberate that it wasn't included.

The Jeremy Kyle skit was hardly high brow comedy gold, but fine for the programmes target audience, and worked as a nice little plug for Undercover.

I can only assume the filmic effect on the pre-recorded studio bits was a mistake.

Is the "End of the Show Show" meant to be derivative of the sort of thing Morecambe and Wise do? It's not
my sort of thing, but people loved them.

I think the best thing to do, would be to gunge a celeb at the end of the programme by popular vote.

To be honest the only highlight was the undercover sketch with Jeremy Kyle. That and the American audience not quite following what was going on after the reveal.

Even the piano sketch was effectively a rehash of Morecambe & Wise's sketch with André Previn.

Little Ant & Dec used to be more about the "out of the mouth of babes" interviews and the premise of "Big Ant & Dec can't be bothered", but based on this week's outing the segment appears to have shot itself in the foot from the off with the presence of Big Ant & Dec.

Hope this was a one-off and normal service will be resumed next week.

It would have been a pre-rec due to regulations over child performances. I think it's something like they're not allowed to be 'working' after 7pm but the time may be different - but it's definitely before the shows transmission.

I think they might have gone a little bit too young with the new Little Ant and Dec - at 5 & 6 they're a couple of years younger than the originals were when they started and I suspect a bit more of a handful to direct and get to ask the questions they want asking. The segment this week was a bit of a mess to be quite frank - it's as if they cast a couple of young kids for the role forgetting they actually have a job to do.

Tonight's show did seem lacking - a show like Takeaway relies on it being fast paced and moving quickly from one thing to the next - but tonight seemed to be built around just three or four items, none of which were particularly strong.
