I loved David Walliams, but what happened to Danny DeVito, who was listed as the guest announcer (RadioTimes)?

I would NOT be doing an unrehearsed stunt from 24 storeys up on a live show. Or even a pre-recorded one.

No way.

I'm not convinced at all it was live - even with the break either side to believe they got changed, went up 24 storey, got hooked up to the safety harness and briefed accordingly all in five minutes is a bit much to believe. ITV though seemingly really pushing "ITV Towers" during the show.

As for the show - nothings changed and not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Short term it won't do them any harm, but long term it needs fresh ideas as it's repetitive nature is what led to it being axed in the first place. It looks like even their new "I'm a Celebrity... Get Out of Me Ear" feature, which was hilarious tonight, will have to fight for airtime with Undercover.

As somone whose travelled the lifts at the ITV Studios there is no way they made it to the top and got 'changed' in the space of an ad break - unless of course since the rebrand they have been turbo charged Razz Razz

Could they have got changed in the lift?

Could they have got changed in the lift?

Is it possible that they shot part 2 of the show before going on air? That would have given them enough time to get harnessed up after part 1 finished but would have still ensured that they were 'absolutely live' when the host said they were (I don't think you'd catch them lying about that nowadays). The bit after the break until Louis Walsh arrives could quite easily have been a pre-record as well.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited about the return of a TV show. I still remember it being voted the second greatest ITV show during ITV50.

Really? I'm not saying it's a bad show (for a 21st century Noels House Party) but not second best in 50 years?

Any ideas what part of tonight's show this would have been for? http://www.applausestore.com/applausestore-book-show.php?id=2315&bid=1

THIS IS NOT TO ATTEND the live transmission. You will be attending a pre-recorded section that will be included in the live show, transmitted later that evening.

My thoughts while watching the programme was that the ending with the water was probably recorded. I don't know how long it would take to set something like that up, but my guess is a while.

I reckon it's a delay, starting the programme a few minutes early and working through the breaks to continue the show getting further ahead than the transmitted version.

Its like IACGMOOH, when they go into the break just after the announcement of the next one leaving they continue LIVE in order to get the celeb packed up, say goodbye and make their way back in the short time they have.
Its LIVE when they announce the next one leaving but not until they cut back to the main studio shot is it LIVE, its clearly noted on screen with the loss of the LIVE bug.

John Stapleton doing a scene at the news desk on SNT, looks quite at home there.

I love how they parodied the Pugwash ident at the beginning!

Nice thing to parody, but a shame it wasn't very funny.

I'm just watching it back on ITV2... I'd have thought that the roof stunt and the intro to it were recorded and the rest was live. I think that the roof scenes would have been better off being recorded, not only for practical reasons (clothes, getting up there, safety etc) but also in terms of filming it.

Incidently I saw This Morning the other day and Phillip Schofield mentioned that Ant & Dec were doing something on the roof, so it couldn't have been that much of a surprise unless it was done before that

As for Little Ant & Dec, I think they should have got these two to do it:

I think the bigger reason to pre-record would be that it involved the cast of a West End show, who would be appearing in that on Saturday night.

I don't really see why any of it needs to be live, there was nothing in episode 1 that required a live element
