Yeah they've been quite clever in that respect - continuation of Ant and Dec on Saturday nights after a very popular series. I do wish there were longer runs though - Noel's House Party used to run for 22 weeks a year. If X Factor can go on for four months then surely Takeaway can last a little longer than seven weeks.
That's a very good point. People were very unkind to NHP towards the end of its run, but they rate at which it ate ideas, no wonder it went stale.

It's worth noting SNT rated at 7.2M last night where as The Voice got 6.2M, I'm finding it very hard to imagine that this pattern will change when BGT returns in a couple of weeks.

A down-the-line studio in LA, I'd have thought! I know many stock photos of the Hollywood sign look alike, but wasn't it the same one that gets used for Ross King on Daybreak?
Just watched the last ten minutes on ITV2+1. Impressive, and quite technically tricky. I didn't spot anything in the credits to imply that there was an OB truck involved, so I guess they must have just cabled over the road. The Mulberry Bush is quite an alright wee pub too.

I wonder where that green screen was? They cut to a camera showing someone give Piers his cake and the green screen was in full view!

They'd run out of ITV "stars" to shoehorn in. If the series went on any longer we'd probably end up with a shameless, barrel scraping 10 minute Catchphrase plug or something.
They've always got the TOWIE lot to fill the gaps. Actually, i'd rather not have that lot on a show like this.

An unsurprising and much deserved victory for Ant and Dec last night, and good news it has been recommissioned too. With such a short series though not too keen on them alternating content every week - understandable if it's a longer run, but I think moving forward they need to decide what works and sticks with it. Undercover IMO is past it's best and the I'm a Celeb... Get Out of Me Ear set ups have been much better IMO, partly I suspect because they involve the general public.
P.S. As "every night is Saturday night" in Las Vegas does that mean the competition winners are only getting one night there!

Whilst that was an obvious plug for Catchphrase, it was both a sensible commercial decision and quite entertaining and an interesting preview of the new Catchphrase.
I suspect Catchphrase was a more loved show by the SNT demographic than say, Mastermind and Countdown that have been featured in the past.

Very true - despite being "on air" for 11 years (admittedly with a big gap since the last series before this one), Takeaway has only had 63 episodes (according to Wikipedia) whereas House Party ran to 169 in seven and a half years!

They're there so often I'm surprised they haven't installed a wall box in the pub! To be serious for a moment, they have used cabled cameras in the past as there is a suitable wallbox by the underground carpark security 'hut' and also quite an extensive intake room by the side of the building which feeds CAR directly. They have also hired in radio cams in the past too. About 18 months ago TLS bought their own radio camera system for use in St1, it could have been down/remounted for this extravagana but I doubt it. Expensive.

I can't believe Ant and Dec and Robbie Williams are fixing another award show. Do they never learn?
This surprising the audience bit really doesn't work. It is boring and basically the same each week. Hopefully that woman will now lose her job as a nurse, there will be a Twitter backlash and this bit will be dropped from the next series.

I was surprised that the close of the show was just like any other and not a special 'end of the series' close

Going back to last week and the walk to the pub, found this (very shaky and poor quality off-screen) video on You Tube of an earlier episode where they did it in reverse right at the start of the show:

Blimey! That was a few years back! Remember that one too! Nice little play on the titles!
