I don't think there is any Saturday production scheduled for TC1 on that Saturday they are due in the US, so they could, it would mean asking BBC Studioworks extending their deal for an extra week which should be easy

How do you know all of this out of interest?

He likes to project these things.

He doesn't, it's his opinion, and we should respect it.

Now, how you can have an opinion on whether a studio is available to be booked, is another question entirely.

Hi, I do a thing called "research" and looking through some of the audience based shows, TC1 does not seem to be booked for that Saturday.

Didn't you also say that the BBC Election coverage would be coming from Elstree, setting up as soon as Children In Need were out, because there were no other bookings in there? Remind me how that worked out?

They could do place on a plane and do a special out there later this year and a normal show in the uk that weekend- the people on place on a plane would attend still. In terms of studio audiences France is having a limit of 500 people how many in the order for song

Ouch. How are they going to cope with this now?

I hasten to imagine that everyone who had won a place on the plane will still be taken there later this year, and this can still be offered on future episodes. That’s if there will even still be a studio audience at all in the next few weeks.

The difficulty comes with the commercial partnership between Disney and ITV given that now it’s unlikely Disney World will get the exposure to the prime time UK audience on the final show, which will no doubt be part of the agreement.

I imagine it will be something ITV will still have to honour at some point and will currently be in last minute negotiations as to what would be an acceptable alternative. The likelyhood will be some kind of one-off random special show based at Disney World.
Or maybe have a week-long ‘This Morning’ out there, indeed Richard & Judy did this in the early days.

Either way, it’s another major headache for the show which only just survived the last incident which took it off air completely last year.

There’s no difficulty. There’s a global pandemic. It’s not going to cause tension between ITV and Disney. Calm down.

Actually Disney closing makes it easy all round - the prize can just be pulled altogether. If anyone reads the T&Cs I'm sure they'll be a clause stating such a thing.

I don’t think ITV would want to pull the thing all together or will choose/have to refund the calls.

I think they'd have to offer refunds anyway. The T&Cs say "The dates of this element of the prize are non-negotiable. The Holiday may not be sold, traded, transferred or rescheduled."

I'm no legal expert, it reads to me like that clause cuts both ways (i.e. no wiggle room for ITV to reschedule).

Not sure though they actually use premium rate phone lines to give away tickets other than their main competition which IIRC is £40k + 8 tickets.

I think they are covered, the specific T&Cs for this competition state that ITV's generic competition terms also apply:

Quote:
However, the Promoter reserves the right to change the prize or any part of the prize to an alternative of equal or greater value for any reason in its sole discretion including without limitation due to circumstances beyond its control or if any part of the prize becomes unavailable
