The programme does seem to be quite 'safe' these days. When it first started (I admit I enjoyed it more then) they used to take quite a lot of risk. I do find SNT is a bit repetitive and they don't seem to try new things out as they used to, other than the bit near the start.

When they first started the show, Ant + Dec weren't as big and obviously now there probably the most well-known and most-wanted presenters in the UK. I have found over the years that SNT has gone from being quite a fresh format, that takes risks and is now a Traditional Variety Show with some Ant + Dec twists.

They're getting the ratings; the general public seems to love it. If I was ITV, I probably wouldn't change much about it. Why take huge risks with a format that works and gets the ratings?

Personally, I find the sketch filler they do Men in Black boring and just forward it. The starting game they usually do of embarrassing members of the public used to be a lot better in the early days. I didn't enjoy the VR thing they did on Saturday, can't understand why that makes good TV. But that's my personal opinion...

I thought the end of the show show this week was a big improvement on the last 2. you can see that a lot of effort went into practising it

The Squits I was bored with from the trailer, my opinion has not changed. just seems like an excuse to say the word as many times as possible

The opening part I enjoyed with the exception of the kiss. some people at home did seem genuinely shocked when they suddenly appeared on TV and the girl in the audience definitely was but I wouldn't want a place on the plane with 300 of those hyper people and other topical reasons Razz

I did enjoy the Ant v Dec challenge this week as something a bit different and they were both good at it. I thought Ant would win after his impressive score. he even said at the end I didn't miss a single block

As some others have mentioned the awful woop woop the audience does over the coming up sequence, end titles etc is bloomin annoying. to me it always seems to sound like the same few people too who you can hear over everyone else

Get out of me ear was good this week. That young lad was a good sport with putting his feet in the sink etc. this and undercover are my favourite parts of the show

At the risk of doing a BM11 (R.I.P.) surely the Place on the Plane prize is looking less appealing with every passing week at the moment.

Have to agree and they might have to pull the plug on it anyway in a couple of weeks leaving all those people disappointed. I wonder if they would just agree to take them at the same time next year and maybe have a different prize next year or take double the number of people on 2 planes next year

It wouldn't be like ITV to put the wellbeing of others before profit and sponsorship deals.

I suspect they'll announce this weekend the Disney trip is off. Just the sheer uncertainty of everything will have everyone involved nervous and it'd probably be easier, if maybe costly, to call the whole thing off.

Are we talking about the current coronavirus epidemic?

But if they’re not giving away tickets for the plane, that is half the show content gone!

Good. Means they might have to create some better content, than spending half the show telling people they’ve won something.

They won’t ‘call the whole thing off’ until government advice suggests that overseas travel to the US is not recommended, which is currently not the case.

If they did have to cancel it, they will obviously just postpone it to a later date which may or may not be televised.

ITV sends a load of Brits on an all-expenses-paid holiday and doesn’t even get a TV programme out of it? Somehow I doubt that would happen.

Maybe they’ll wheel on Harry Gration to explain that it’s been cancelled.

They can always switch it round and have people on quarantined cruise ships competing for a Place on the Plane home.
Isonstine and james-2001 gave kudos
