The live Fleur East bit was a bit boring for the viewer at home ‘we’ve already selected a winner from the online entries and now Fleur is going to knock at their door!’

In the past series at least they had the locations around the UK for the public to turn up to and have a chance at winning something

One of my family said there is an air of complacency at SNT in 2020 - you do get the feeling now Ant and Dec might think they can play safe, put any old tosh on the show and it does not matter, as the public will still watch and they will continue to bag the television awards every year.

They have just played it safe and did nothing new. Two years off air and the show is really bad now. There is no attraction or pull. No big star guest, no big routines any more.

It feels like SNT and ITV think no one will bother switching over to BBC One and they will remain no matter what.

The show needs a good kick up the arse.

They're probably right.

Its the usual rose tinted spectacles, lets remember the best bits of every series and assume they all happened in one episode. People are just moaning for the sake of it now. Very oddly this forum is much more negative than Twitter and Digital Spy.

I take it nobody remembers Ant vs Dec: The Teams, that featured every week, dominated large parts of the show and involved about a dozen different celebs

The proposals lasted no longer than that opening ‘let’s bring someone up on the stage’ opening item usually does.

Please stop exaggerating

What are you comparing it to?

Since when has the show been about big star guests?

Maybe you need to stop watching if it’s so bad.

It is not rose tinted glasses Andrew, to be brutally honest the current format stinks and needs changing - everyone can sense it.

They have just seven shows a year of this programme, just seven programmes. You would think with just seven weeks to fill they could have done better.

The current format is the format. If you don’t like it don’t watch. All shows evolve from their first series into a set pattern. They will swap in and out items and come up with variations of items that amount to the same sort of thing in terms of viewer interactions, prizes being won, OBs in the street, but that will be it.

The only other show of this sort on TV at the moment is Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, this has more episodes than Takeaway and has done the same items week in week out, for a few series now. That’s the only benchmark we have.

What would you do to change it then?

Was much better this week. Apart from the competition segments.

I saw SNT today for the first time ever.

On my first ever viewing, I’d give it 6/10.

I can see both sides of the argument, frankly. There is some really good content and there is also some contrived nonsense that is cringeworthy and dull.

You’ve got to hand it to And and Dec though. Those guys hold it together well and they’re likeable.

The karate suits skit at the end was such an old historic concept (played against black-out backdrop) but it worked.

I found the show a bit long at 90 minutes. An hour would have been enough.

6.5 million viewers last night, most watched show on a Saturday night and the biggest audience of the week.

But JKDerry doesn't like it so they must cancel it immediately and perhaps replace it with 90 minutes of JKDerry explaining incorrectly how studios and productions operate?

"Everyone can sense it" after all!

Andrew, I am allowed an opinion and I do not subscribe to the Saint Ant and Saint Dec worship which many do - who consider them to be totally flawless in their work and need praising all the time.

I am being honest, and the show has lost a lot of its shine, with a lost opportunity of moving to a brand new studio, TC1 with all the heritage of entertainment made in it, they just churned out the usual lack lustre bits and pieces.

Remember, this is TV Forum, a Forum - where we give views from ALL sides right?

Listen - are we now in the world where if I do not agree with your views I am in the wrong? Is this the "woke" society now here in TV Forum?
