I wonder if it will commence in late February - as The Last Leg use Studio TC1 live and it would mean a hell of a quick change for them to get the SNT set into the studio for Saturday night after The Last Leg ends at 11.00pm on Friday.

The current series of The Last Leg is due to end on Friday 14th February 2020 - so could this mean a start on Saturday 22nd February 2020 for SNT?

Overnight turnarounds happen all the time in light entertainment, I don't see why this would be a problem unless takeaway need extra time for rehearsal?

Ant and Dec must have been eager to get TC1 to use for their show. It is such an iconic building, and would be great for the opening to their show - with a brand new opening title sequence on the way.

They could have chosen other larger studios, BBC Elstree Studio D even, George Lucas Stage at Elstree - but they chose Television Centre. Just a shame the complex has really only one large entertainment studio available for these type of shows, so many productions have been crammed into TC1 in the course of a week.

In recent years TC1 and TLS 1 haven’t existed at the same time, so there is basically no change and no more or less ‘cramming’ than before.

TC1 was operating right until 2013. I was just conveying that Ant and Dec prefer to have an iconic building for their show - TLS provided that, and now of course Television Centre.

I very much doubt they have a say or even care. Studio hire is based entirely on price, connectivity, location and availability. The fact that there's a lot of ITV connectivity in the building already to facilitate live feeds for the breakfast show would be a major advantage. TLS had similar which takeaway used to their advantage previously.

The Masked Singer finishes on the 15th February so Takeaway starting on the 22nd sounds about right,

Have Ant & Dec ever done anything in their career in TC1?

TV Studio History says Friends Like These was recorded in TC1 but looking at clips I'd say it was done in TC4.

I did a couple of weekday TVC tours - back in the day - and despite them being a couple of years apart, both times, the Friends Like These set was struck for an evening recording in TC1.

I know it was never likely to happen but I think the show would have worked really well from media city. They could have made great use of the plaza.

They should rename it Ant and Dec's House Party!

February 22nd would make sense, making 7 episodes in the series. According to Twitter and a couple of Disney World forums, Ant & Dec were spotted filming a promo in Magic Kingdom earlier this month, with the final show apparently due to be from there on 4th April (as the afternoon parade time has been changed on that day), so basically repeating what they did in 2017.

Isn't the plaza connected to the BBC building though rather than the Dock 10 studios. Saturday Night Takeaway though arguably one show that could be easier to move out of London considering it relies on the public more than celeb guests - and it rates well enough to get the celebs it does have outside of the M25.

It has large games teams that you can only get in London. I wouldn't say it would be an easy show to move at all.

"Large games teams"?

Yes, large teams of games producers to look after the various games- based items and hits in the show.

Ah, the sort of teams of games producers that crop up on shows filmed around the country.
