What would you have done to relaunch it?

Cut the show to a 75 minute format, introduced new sketches, new routines, instead of playing it safe.

The problem is they’ve rejigged it too much without really replacing the features they’ve got rid of, so far.

Have a big intro, celebrating the show's new home of Television Centre - Have a proper big named guest as the announcer - a redesigned set, as it is basically the same one as before - new opening titles which look better than the one they have now

I'd change the logo font to Comic Sans. And sacrifice a member of the audience instead of the happiest minute.

I'm pretty sure at least 95% of the audience couldn't care less which studio they were coming from.
