Assuming ITV don't work with The Voice and Britain's Got Talent along with some filler shows to fill the gap, it might be a good idea to use the gap to trial some new or revived formats in the gap or do something like Gameshow Marathon again.
**shudders at the torrent of single entendre questions**
And the continuing attempt at getting Alan Carr to host a revival of every orignal American Freemantle game show continues.
It'll be Alan Carr's Family Fortunes next - you read it here first...
..and when that bombs - Alan Carr's Blankety Blank

ITV should definitely consider bringing back Gameshow Marathon. Originally made as part of ITV's 50th anniversary, with Ant & Dec hosting. Vernon Kay hosted the second (and last) series, so who could ITV pick to host it if they had a new series of that where next year's SNT series would've been? Would they pick a new host, or (perhaps more likely) just give it to Stephen Mulhern?
The best part of Gameshow Marathon was the original title sequences being shown, and the regional company frontcap getting a huge cheer from the studio audience.

Yeah, good idea. Bullseye, The Price is Right, Family Fortunes, Mr and Mrs and Blockbusters all ended up getting revived as a result of that (FF was not included in the second series as a result). It could serve as a tryout for certain formats.

Blockbusters was revived in 2012 - 5 years after it being on Gameshow Marathon. I'm not sure I'd make the connection myself.

See there another game show there could try out. I'm sure Richard medley would happily do more connections.
