I thought they said because the lady had been unwell it had made it difficult for them.
Yep, I heard that, but I think that was more in reference to the "surprise" element, as she'd already been told she'd be the focus of the first segment of the show beforehand. If they had pre-recorded some footage with the family in the "this time last year" section (like on the proper show) with Ant, that would render it unusable. With the delaying of the section by a few weeks and the issues with Ant, they were probably just happy to get it to air

I'm pretty sure the "This Time" bit was done as it was originally intended. Personally I thought it all worked fine.
"Let me walk you to your dressing room" ... well he's on the wrong floor to do that. There are no dressing rooms on the ground floor, but of course it's just a bit of banter and I get that.
There is an artistes quick change room at the rear/back wall of Studio 1 underneath the permanent seating. Just saying.

Is it the green rooms he's going to? They regularly refer to them as Dressing Rooms. I guess it's to add the element of "intrusion" as they're behind the scenes. A clip of A&D banging the door of a "dressing room" and disturbing the guest to bang on about the End of the Show Show is funnier than "Oh, let's go and speak to xxxx who is waiting for us to do this bit in the Green Room".
I remember a clip of Bradley Walsh talking about the dressing rooms being away from the studio when he was discussing The Chase and how he doesn't see the contestants beforehand.

The area where Dec was walking with Paloma Faith has green rooms and production offices. The main production studio dressing rooms are above them on the first floor. There are others to service the 'Daytime/Daybreak' studios but they are not in the podium block - which is where the 3 main general purpose production studios are.
And in other news the End of the Show Show wasn't really in Paloma Faith's living room either.
She also wasn’t singing
- something she received a fair bit of criticism for! She said on Twitter this week that she recorded the vocal a few hours earlier because it would have been impossible upside down and in the harness
I loved her performance I thought it was really cool but it was a substance of style kind of situation. Was she there to entertain or to sing?! Probably entertain seeing as ‘Upside down’ is 8 years old!
