The tabloids are reporting that there are ‘crisis talks’ happening this afternoon about how to address the issue with Ant. I would be very surprised, amazed in fact, if it had not been discussed extensively over the last two weeks.
Curiosity may lead to more viewers for tonight’s show, but I don’t think it’ll be higher than 8m. It’ll certainly be a very strange atmosphere, but I imagine there will be more good will for Dec than anything else.

Um... I really don't think they would leave how to address the 'elephant in the room' until a few hours before transmission. It would have surely been the first thing they thought about two weeks ago when they decided to resume transmission.
If anything the only awkward or interesting part will be the start of the show. The rest won't probably seem that different just with Dec at the helm.
