You can't compare the two situations. Matthew Kelly was very clear in denying the allegations against him. Ant has not (yet) publicly commented on the allegations against him, so it's apples and oranges.
Well it has just been announced Dec and his wife are now expecting a baby so it wouldn’t be a huge shock for Ant and/or Dec to pass on any presenting duties for 2019 as I would assume Dec would want to spend some time off with his newborn.
I’m a Celebrity is going be a difficult because one, Ant might not be ready to come back and Dec might be a bit busy. So do ITV just rest it for a year, I can’t see them getting anyone else in to do it. But it’s pretty much a ratings banker, but how much would not having A&D affect it?
It’s arguable the one that could cope without Ant and Dec the most though. A year of someone else presenting won’t kill it off.
It is. Although in many ways it is the best me show that lets them have a bit more freedom to be themselves albeit scripted if that makes sense. For me they make that show.
But I think we could see a temporary duo, perhaps Joel Dommett (ok) and Scarlett (not ok) step up from Extra Camp

Although according to the tabloids, it looks like they’ve arranged it well so that it’s due within Dec’s usual 6 months off, probably for that very reason!
Absolutely no chance they’ll rest I’m a Celeb for a year. It’s by far their most important show in the run up to Christmas now that X Factor is dying and makes them a fortune in festive ad sales. If Ant and Dec are completely off the table I think ITV would probably invest in some big names to host as a big one off rather than promoting ITV2 hosts.
Also I’d argue that BGT is the show that could survive the easiest without A&D. That’s certainly the one they feature the least on.
I'd agree with that and of course ultimately everyone is replaceable. It is still a long way off too - from a duty of care point of view I think by then it would be far more beneficial for Ant to be hosting rather than stuck at home, and as I don't think ITV are going to throw him on the scrapheap probably from a perception point of view it is too.
