Takeaway might need temporary titles for the last 2 shows whatever happens if they go ahead and will have to address what has happened and when ant comes to tv, the same will need to happen again. Seemingly the current idea is to finish takeaway in some form show pre recorded bgt auditions as currently are and work out about bgt when we get there same with celeb. No doubt there will be plenty of ecps with new schedule involved later in the week as well to look out for. Seemingly as well jackpot 24/7 will be on itv for less time on Saturday as well. ( sorry for lack of flow but thinking as I am typing.)

I don’t think the last two episodes will be broadcast going by this, and the Universal Studios finale broadcast later in the year.

Doesn’t bgt usually start the week after takeaway finishes?

As has been mentioned previously, just because there's no show doesn't mean they can't go on holiday.

Yes. 14th April.

If we take the Sun's insider's comments that Ant will be out for the next year, can we imagine I'm a Celeb coming back this year? I don't know what contracts are in place in- or who owns the show? If it was Big Brother Endemol would probably make that decision with/for 5 (but then Emma isn't Ant & Dec)
I just don't reckon it'll have the same draw and could have a longer term impact if they continue with a new host (if they're a bit weak - and who is up to par?) rather than resting the format for a year. Of course that also brings the issue that there would be three weeks of prime time viewing to fill? But 7/8 months ahead I'm sure that could be resolved!?

I just realised this is speculative, but I'm more interested in terms of the contractual side, the ownership etc of the show and the sponsorship deals. Will these be in place/ signed by now? Sorry if anyone has had enough of this kind of comment.

I don't think ITV will rest any show fronted by Ant & Dec, other than shelve the rest of Takeaway. I think if Ant & Dec had not renewed their contract the shows would have still gone on.

Much will be up to Dec. Whether he can go it alone whilst Ant is out or not as he'll forever be Dec out of 'Ant & Dec' or whether he'll just want to wait for Ant to get back.

I could see Dec presenting BGT alone but probably not I'm A Celebrity.

They won’t edit out Ant from the titles, that’s ridiculous. He isn’t Jimmy Saville.

They also wouldn’t broadcast the finale later in the year.

And why will they need to address what happened, everybody already knows.

I’m a Celeb is ITV Studios, the only one of Ant & Dec’s shows that is 100% owned by ITV.

It's far too soon to talk about I'm a Celeb - and in a way it makes more sense for him to make his comeback in a somewhat isolated environment than live on Saturday nights with a UK studio show.

Not being hasty is important in any situations like this - the decisions made need to be rational ones and time often makes such decisions that little bit clearer. It's worth remembering that despite what he writes Dan Wooton isn't privy to Ant's personal rehab plan, and I would imagine he's still very much in an assessment phase anyway. Part of that rehab may indeed be work, but then of course the ethical dilemma of him being on screen from a public perception point of view comes into play. I suspect ITV would rather wait until sentence is passed for that.

Regarding the final show at Universal and all the people getting free holidays etc, does anyone know how all this actually works?
Does Universal owners fund all the holidays, flights etc? Is it shared cost with ITV? Do they do it all in return for getting their name mentioned on screen over and over, and for the final to show all aspects of the theme park they are at etc? (sorry if some of this has already been answered)
If this is the case, would Universal really be happy for all those people to still get their free holiday without the onscreen publicity for them?
