Realistically, I can only envision this week's showed being pulled. It's easy to forget that they're best friends off screen and Dec most likely won't feel comfortable presenting an upbeat show without his partner with him. He'll be too wrapped up in helping him get through what's happened. Opting for guest hosts would just make the show uncomfortable. The show belongs to them, and watching somebody else try and take control just won't work. Emma Willis struggled hosting just the Ant v Dec challenge, and Scarlett just gets in a flap whenever she's told to do something on the fly.

Apparently Phil and Holly were getting a bit of stick for not addressing the news, which makes me think ITV are going to try their best to ignore the news and not draw attention to it, which makes me think the show will just get pulled for however long they decide.

Emma actually did the Win The Adds on the 100th episode it was Stephen Mulhern who did the Ant vs Dec quiz

It was lead story on the ITV Lunchtime News though, the BBC in comparison mentioned it in brief at about 20 past

Anyone know what the implications are for travelling abroad? I suppose it all depends on whether he's charged, bailed or whatever but I wonder if any of it could get in the way of him travelling to Florida.

I can't imagine they'll let Dec host alone or with someone else as I think it would be even more damaging to their brand. My guess would be that there'll be a best of episode this week and then carry on as normal as they can next week with some kind of sober apology at the start.

According to a few newspapers due to the strict visa laws in the USA. Ant might not be even allowed in the USA at all if this is still ongoing by the live show from Florida

I beleive if it's a straight drink driving charge he will be allowed in but banned for driving. Question will be what he has been changed with, since if it's above that charge then that's were the problems lye.

It is going to be a very awkward show on Saturday night. I am nearly certain Ant will host as usual, but it will be a huge elephant in the room if the issue is not addressed. Can you imagine how angry Dec is at the moment. One of the down sides of being a double act, so glued together, is if the other party f**ks up then you are screwed. This is the reason why the Two Ronnies had the best deal. They looked like a double act, but in fact had two separate careers and worked well on their own.

Not sure how far into the realms of commenting on someone’s personal life we are going here, but I would expect that Dec would be supportive rather than angry.

I think the show will go ahead this weekend, as normal.

Dec stood by him when he was undergoing treatment in rehab, so I very much doubt he is going to be angry because he knows full well that Ant is still recovering.

I have a feeling that's more due to the friendship between Holly, Phil and Ant (and their shared management) rather than ITV policy. As has been said, it was covered on GMB and ITV News.

I think we should remember the level of speculative journalism going on around the Ant case. We have no idea what's going on and we should be really careful what is said. It's clear that Ant has some demons and is struggling with them but why would it be necessary for this morning to recognise this? There have been no press releases and Ant himself hasn't commented. This is very unlike the Jamie Carragher situation.

Whether it was Holly & Phil/ management who made this decision, or itv themselves, I respect it. I realise why GMB made comments, because they're reporting on developing stories and the Mirror/ Mail are two of their respected sources, both of whom have really irresponsibly and unfairly reported on this case thus far.

Looks like the show has been cancelled:

A statement from Ant & Dec:
“Ant has decided to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments. He has spoken with Dec and ITV today and asked for time off for the foreseeable future. As such ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ will not be going ahead this Saturday.”
