Anyone entering Game of Phones would have been a bit knackered had their phone not had a headphone port! In fact I think Scarlett picked one but either the owner or production team had managed to stick the lightning port adaptor in!
The sheer speed of Saturday Night Takeaway is quite the thing. LIttle throwaways that would have been entire segments on the likes of Noel's House Party and Don't Forget Your Toothbrush: marriage proposals, bringing someone home from army duty to be reunited, NTV-esque reveals - all done in about 30 seconds flat and move on, move on, move on. It's knackering to watch, God knows what it's like to produce and present.
In a way it's probably easier to produce - if there's a problem with an item, you can fill with the other items by extending them by a tiny amount. If you've set your whole programme up expecting to do (say) a 20 minute elaborate NTV-style hit, and your link goes down 1 minute in, you're stuffed for what to fill the rest of the show with.

I agree and was thinking just the same last night!
Knowing people that work on the show - especially in sound - they really do get pushed to the limits by the production team (and they LOVE that) - and their love and enthusiasm shows on screen... its an amazing production.
