Whilst we're on famous announcers, I note an interesting addition to the schedule between 11:00 and 14:00 on Tuesday on this page.

Interesting. So that’s what he does when he’s not flogging 'No wet Wonder Foam'.

Compare Saturday and Sunday's continuity with Tonight's and see which you prefer, there was definally much more excitement with Scottish Paul's announcements.

Whilst on the subject of ITV1, what is it that causes that white dotted line at the top of the picture, it appears when ECPs animate onto the screen, and when trailers freeze and during the black in between items. When watching in 14:9 it's quite noticeable

Does anybody know what's happening to ITV1 Wales's annoucning at the moment, some time last week, instead of introducing a programme, the announcer just said, "good evening, this is itv1 wales" and this was said most of the evening and sometimes I have noticed that no annoucement is made before some programmes, does anybody know the names of the two announcers at itv1 wales, they both seem very good at their job and it's shame all daytime and prime time annoucning is not live

Yip I have to agree. But then Sonia doesn't stumble when she talks.

I think if they all had Paul's enthusiasm and scripting - and Paul had, Paul Seed's timing then I think they all would be fab! (Of course not anywhere near as good as the LWT days) Laughing

I agree I think Paul Seed is my fav announcer on ITV1 at the moment - is it me or is he not on that often?

Graham Rogers is a close second.

As for Sonia I think she has a lovely voice but just sounds dull.

I was listening to both Trish and Glen the other weekend and they just sound spot on with every announcement - setting the correct mood for each show they introduce.

I admire Paul Jamieson's enthusiasm for the job - just wish he would slow down.

I like Sasha a lot - I think she will become a TV Forum favourite over the months.

In the grand scheme of things, like the majority of the population, whilst I have a view I don't actually care .

Then why even bother reading a thread concerning continuity?
Your actions are inconsistent with your tenet.

You confuse interest with concern. My interest is genuine, my opinion as valid as that of any other.

Ironic that in order to justify your pompous submission you quoted my "In context" out of context.

Funny old world.

I suppose it’s far more cost-effective for them to be done at LNN.

And that is all that matters in the eyes of the management and stockholders.

Meanwhile, on a serious note. Corin hits nail on the head. No pun intended but the bottom line is the bottom line.

Sadly by the time the parasites have creamed off bonuses, expenses etc there is precious little left for shareholders.

A number of managers within ITV companies had performance related bonuses linked to cost savings, they cut costs by ridding themselves of people in their departments.

Sign of an ailing company is contraction, ITV companies are contracting. a continuity annoucer does what? Ask the boss, he'll tell you.

"If he knows what's good for him, he does as he told and he keeps his head down". I would add to that bearing in mind the money, as little as possible.

I take it it was Sonia tonight.

I tend not to watch any telly at all on Monday nights as, contrary to Squarey's belief, Monday night is "sauce" night with the high-flying media chums, as the club tends to be much quieter on a Monday and we can talk shop in peace!

Both of you are welcome any time to the weekly gatherings at The Lennox Arms, Portgordon.

Next week, Richard Greenwood will be our guest speaker, his subject "From an hotel in Glendarroch to a coal shed near Buckie".

My short talk yesterday "Glenn Thomson - a 1,000 glorious years" went down really well last night, as did several light beverages and a red pudding supper.

Scottish Paul is even dafter tonight than he was at the weekend, making comments about the previous programme over the end credits

Comparing him to former GMG announcers, his style has now gone past Neil Didsbury style and is now like Pete Haslam.

Also Trish Bertram was on the daytime shift today.

A final point, now that Nightime is no longer live, does this mean David Allen will no longer work for ITV.
