Mark Lamaar was a good host, but I do agree that Simon Amstell has injected new life into the show, in a similar way to which Bill Bailey did a few years ago when he replaced Sean Hughes as team captain.
Strange innit. he's done popworld with Amstell and Buzzcocks with Lamaar and Phil Jupitas is a good friend of Prestons. I reckon he was on a comedown from all those sleeping pills the day that show was recorded. Oddly Mr. Hellfire sided with Preston ( that is a first as Mr. H has never had anyything good to say about him before now)
I don't know if Bills' action was spur of the moment but if was amusing to watch. The random audience member (Ed?) arguably has the same celebrity status as Preston, for a while at least. I wonder if a clip of the episode will make it onto TV Burp.

It's been suggested that it was a set up by Preston to gain publicity. The fact that he looked annoyed from the outset would back that up
