I'll give you a clue - it was on Clive Anderson's chat show.

Ah when the Bee Gees walked off, I remember that well, at first Clive Anderson got a bit of bad press for that but eventually it turned in his favour Laughing

Correct & Merton still won Laughing

The time Merton was on the opposite team to his then wife Caroline Quentin is funnier.

Elton John also failed to turn up on HIGNFY a few years ago and he was replaced by his lookalike Ray Johnson. Although, being a common Essex lad, he never spoke throughout the whole show. Laughing

With regards to Simon Amstell, I love the way he isn't afraid to slag off the z-list celebrities featured in most of the Identity Parades. "Kicking of a new European tour on January 8th....really?!....its Mary Joe from Rednex.." Laughing

Clive Anderson noted that the Bee Gees used to be in a group called Les Tosseurs (sic?), and he quipped: "You'll always be tosseurs to me". In order to show they had a good sense of humour and could laugh at themselves, they stormed off the show Laughing Even David Camera-on can put up with jokes at his expense (confer Wossy/Maggie gag).

I quite like Simon Amstell, he seems sharper than Lamarr. Since Amstell is gay and Jewish, he has probably had more than his fair share of abuse-- which is probably why he doesn't care about genuinely offending others Laughing Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consnet after all Wink

When would this alleged episode of NMTB with Preston be shown?

Of course it will!

Preston would have known exactly what Amstell was like - he'd done several apperances on Popworld!
