Mark Austin just ended the ITV1 coverage - more with Jonathan Dimbleby at 1

He could have plugged the NC for continuous coverage though....

NC viewers got several seconds of the ITN production endcap and then back to the press conference ... it's that sort of thing that will make viewers switch to Sky or N24

Steve Scott has taken over as anchor.

I have to say I'm slightly surprised at some channels' lack of coverage. I turned the telly on for Hollyoaks before 10.30 and didn't hear the news until an hour later when I flicked over to BBC2 during an ad break!

ITV seem to be making a good effort to cover the story. Not entirely sure why the BBC's only terrestrial coverage right now is coming courtesy of The Politics Show.

On another note, CNBC are showing MSNBC coverage - who, in turn, are simulcasting a special edition of the Today show with Tom Brokaw presenting.

You didn't honestly think they would scrap them? Imagine the fuss if they'd phoned up all the regions and said 'throw your well prepared running orders in the bin, pack up and go home' That's a hell of a lot of time and money wasted

Wouldn't this be a good time for N24 to employ the ticker to bring a summary of the events, especially with the limited information the info strap now contains as it's only 1 line of text!

N24's coverage has also exposed the lack of a "latest pictures" caption that could appear in the place of the LIVE DOG.

This sums it all up though:

ITV News also had a similar caption, although they fitted on the 'Ladies and Gentlemen' bit

World put the current (live) from normal right to left under LIVE logo! It is now more easy the watch because it is not so near tv edge.

At 1248 within T4 : Channel4 carried a very short News Report, then threw back to T4. All seemed a bit rushed, and jon Snow didn't seem to be too sure he was on-air for a few seconds !
