I do like this intro. However, since they were joining News 24, wouldn't it make sense to replace the old beige titles with the News 24 ones?

I put News 24 on either just before or just after 1000 and saw the Breaking News slot.

I asume it must have been around then.

Oh dear! Did they use this caption this morning then ?

They should have a new graphic on the system by now, surely?!

What time did BBC2's news report with Jane Hill start? Did they break into 'Sunday Home and Garden'?

Anyone know what time the first news of this broke?

Some time around 9.50am I think - Breakfast with Frost was able to report it breifly in the news headline recap at the end (they might even have pipped Sky News to it, not sure what time they got it out).

It will be intresting to see what happens to The Politics Show - whether they move the BBC News Special to BBC ONE replacing it, or keep it and try to cover it live?

I expect that we will have a news flash on BBC 1 in a few minutes (noon) as Countryfile is coming to an end. Get your capturing facilities ready (if you can be bothered).

They'll have to keep Politics on BBC ONE as (officially) the English Regions do not do opt-outs on BBC TWO anymore. Most regional centres can still opt out on analogue, but DSAT does not carry any BBC TWO English Regions.

I suspect the news will roll on TWO (carrying the press conference) and PS will go on ONE as normal.

There is no need to be smutty, I was just commenting on how I first hear the story.

I must say, Mark Austin seems rather happy by this story, saying Good News earlier on and then smiling before the Link to the NBC Reporter.

Yes they did break into BBC 2, faded to black, silent BBC 2 ident, short voice over, News 24.

I was quite enjoying the BBC 2 programme, I bet I will not see the rest of the programme.

Get ready for BBC 1, countryfile has just about finished.

Sorry Benjamin - I wasn't being smutty. I was just amused that BBC ONE pres hasn't got an up-to-date News Report slide on their system ! Smile
