any news on whether they released the 'lines' ident as a screensaver?

You might need to mention that on idents.tv, Proud Creative (who made them) read there.

I've just made one myself. There are plenty of "Play Movie as Screensaver" apps out there - try doing a search. I then downloaded the H264 version from idents.tv and voila!

These idents are amazing. Are there anymore than the three up on the site?

Well the press release said ten of these, but at the moment only 3 have appeared.

Are these replacing the original set or adding to them?

Video quality is nice on that site; audio not so great but there you go...

The Lamps one is being called 'Lights' - but I'm sure the ident on the pier from the original set (which is still in use) is also called Lights - they can't both be right!

Of these apparent yet to air ones, Ice Cream and Car Park I find weird for their own reasons as they aren't attempting to be subtle tweaks on reality - instead, they are just plain unbelievable.

Cow and Lighthouse are not bad I'd say, but it is Welding that tops the 'unseen' list for me, as visually here it works really well - look forward to seeing that one on-screen.

Interesting they began work on these in June 2006, which I is assume before the "new" idents launched.

Seems strange to have two different styles running together - considering there are ten of these I suspect the others may be phased out.

As good as some of these are (what's that Ice Cream Van all about?), they don't scream "S4C" at me - and I see them as quite a missed opportunity really.

The Welding one shows that some link to the old dragon theme could have been continued through these - and although perhaps fire isn't appropriate for all of them, sticking with the red colour scheme could have given them a much bolder identity.

As they are though they could really be on any channel.

I personally am not keen on the ident with the machines moving its not good movement at all. However the rest are great!
