Have S4C started a UK-wide campaign?

A mysterious leaflet..! (September 2008)

We got a small booklet with the Mail on Sunday (don't worry, not my newspaper of choice!) this morning for S4C's new documentary series about rivers, Yr Afon. Each double page describes each episode of the series and its pictures all looks very nice but why has it been sent to me?! Living in the Wirral we're nearish to Wales so I thought maybe it was a mix up in regions but the TV guide was for Granada.

The back of the booklet lists all the ways of recieving S4C and it actually lists Sky 134 in England, Scotland and NI before listing Sky 104 in Wales which perhaps suggests that the booklet is intended to be recieved by the entire country.

I wonder if this is a push to advertise its improved online catch-up service S4Clic. It mentions it but it doesn't talk about the English subtitling which is offered.

Also, each episode page has the PC, Subtitles, AD and BSL symbols that they use on air which I thought was a nice little touch!

If I remember, the Daily Mail has a "North West Edition" (which is printed underneath the logo).

I believe this "North West Edition" is also available in North Wales, I assume the Mail On Sunday has a similar arrangement to have a "North West Edition" which also covers North Wales.

So maybe that answers your question on why you got something about S4C in it, it was the North West edition but with a bit of advertising for the bit of Wales that gets that particular edition.

There was an S4C leaflet on the floor of a First Great Western train from Penzance to Paddington on Saturday. I presume the same one, it appeared to have fell out of the Guardian.
