Wasn't UKTV playout based at Television Centre before the move to Red Bee? Unless the commercials were handled separately?

Beat me to it.
I have no idea how I'm going to get everything packed by April 1st.

I guess there's an argument that UKTV isn't a third party broadcaster as far as the BBC is concerned.

That did cross my mind, but I'm sure it would have been at the time when Flextech were still in partnership with the BBC.

Yes, that was the technicality I was thinking of, and therefore discounting!
It's all open to debate of course 😎

With the BBC funding so much of it, it's arguably not really a third party. Presumably bringing it in house to the BBC svaes money

So S4C has moved to Carmarthen and playout has moved to the Central Square. Are they keeping the it old place in Cardiff?

S4C Commercial owns the property at Parc TÅ· Glas and are renting out the office space. They've been doing that for some years anyway for a few media/digital companies. Even with the current climate, there is still some demand for office space (and it is cheaper than in the town centre).

I assume S4C are now operating with announcer/directors looking at that photo, was that the case at the old facility?

The network recall indicator on the screen with the clock is interesting, I assume that's just there because the S4C pres suite is built to the same spec as the BBC One/Two Wales ones for cost reasons?
Write that down in your copybook now.

S4C are still working in their usual way, with a director and separate announcer. The picture above is the announcer's booth. The director is in a separate Pres suite, though there is a microphone in the suite as it's essentially the same or similar build to the suites used by BBC One/Two Wales.
