I understand it is an Historical symbol to the welsh, but is it what defines the Welsh in this day and age, and is it something which portrays Welsh TV Programming?

Well that's a much more interesting question. I suppose like the stylised thistle used by visitscotland.com, there is a way to bring old symbology into contemporary marketing campaigns.

visitwales.com uses a stylised dragon in a similar vein.

Has S4C 2 (or should I say S4/C2 or S4/C/2 or something?!) been changed yet? Is today one of its broacasting days (ie, not when the viewer info is on)?

I don't know if it's been relaunched too - although I assume it has. S4C2 broadcasts programmes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, but I think shows "Information Pages" the rest of the time.

Anyone got any more info/caps?

They've followed the BBC's lead and renamed it S4C two/ S4C dau (stupidly as this means they now have to use two names rather than a language-neutral name). There's an MHEG caption at the moment.

I don't like the fact they've used the / instead of a full stop or colon to separate the hours and minutes on programme times... it just looks wrong to me.

S4C2 has always struck me as daft name. Sticking a number at the end doesn't make sense when the main part of the channel name already has a number in it (the 4)! Rolling Eyes

Surely it could be called S4C Senedd (= S4C Parliament), or something??

Neither do I, its quite confusing when you see it, you don't immediately recognise it as the time.

i agree, i think it looks more like the date rather than the time Rolling Eyes

Does S4C2 have any "actual idents" (in the usual sense) as such, or does it just have slides like above?

Seeings as BBC Parliament doesn't have "actual idents" as such, I suspect that S4C2 doesn't either? Or, if it does, what are they? (Caps?)

Yes that's what it makes me think of more than anything.
