I don't need dragons, flames and traditional colours to remind me I'm Welsh, this move brings S4C in line as a modern and diverse broadcaster in the digital age. The previous look was great don't get me wrong, but it was tired after 13 years of service, itself surviving the 1995 corporate identity change. S4/C makes perfect sense to me, although it would be better without the /, and the Gill Sans phase was definately over. I recognise many of the scenes in the idents (although the majority are in South Wales), and the unified presentation package is a godsend compared to the willy nilly mix of different coloured ECP's, breakbumpers and promos they had before.
We actually recieve Channel 4 primarily from an English transmitter as opposed to S4C, and that certainly doesn't bother me. Its there if I choose to recieve it.
BTW I saw a signboard ad for a new programme on S4C last week with the new S4/C logo before the overhaul. Don't ask me what the programme was (I can't remember), but it seems to be a common thing among broadcasters.
