So that's TV Scotland launched without me knowing because the channel can't afford to advertise it but oh well

So let's start with ident it's very bad they could have done better they could have had a look the TV Forum's Gallery to have a look and gives them a good warning about the poor mocks being shaded. I mean it's too purple STV 2 was better than that

But ident is not everything so let's look at the schedule starting at the breakfast tv start time of 6 AM

But before I begin I was typing this and some adverts stayed stuck on the end of the advert for a little while

The schedule is from the 16th Ocotber 2018

6 AM: That's TV Headline News - This is news for just Ayr so at least they are getting more local than what STV 2 but the studio I just think bland and the news reporting is not the best.

7 AM: That's TV Headline News - This is news for Dundee it's basically the same but it's Dundee's news not Ayr's once again it's bland

8 AM: That's TV Headline News - Once again it's there news programme this time for Aberdeen

9 AM: TJC (The Jewellery Channel) - Now from News to Teleshopping that's right Talking Pictures give up on them so they now show TJC a channel that you can access on Freeview channel 49 any time of the day and it lasts for 3 hours I thought this was that's tv Scotland not that's tv shopping

12 PM: Six Shootin' Sheriff - which is a movie but I have not seen it yet so can't grade it

1 PM: The Duke Is Tops - once again another movie once again not heard or seen it

2:30 PM: Against A Crooked Sky - once again another movie not seen or heard

4 PM: Cary Grant in Penny Serenade - guess what another movie that I have not seen

6PM: That's TV Headline News - This time its for Edinburgh and then at 7PM it's Glasgow's news and they swap every hour till 3AM

I give up on local tv being good I waited from when STV 2 closed down in June 2018 passing the summer which I got good DX then and then finally October 2018 I don't know when it launched bad marketing this channel has not been setup properly and I want STV 2 back now at least STV 2 cared and made good programs that I could watch but I am just going to go back and just watch all the stuff I recorded from STV 2 before it shut down

Cheap, badly made news looped for hours on end and public domain movies like every other that's channel, then?

Basically the same as every other That's TV site in England and Wales.

So, I'm watching a bit of the "Headline News", as you do at 1 in the morning...
It's painful! One of the main headlines is a bar in Edinburgh that claims to serve the biggest nachos in the city, and maybe even the country?
It's like a secondary school project, only, I remember seeing better attempts when I was at school.

How can OFCOM allow them to hold a local licence for Ayr when the only local content is an "hour" of "news" at 6am in the morning. Probably recorded the day before as well - is it the same presenter for all 5 regions?

That's TV's approach to local TV is ... well, well-known, in all honesty: https://www.buzzfeed.com/markdistefano/revealed-how-britains-biggest-local-tv-company-has-gamed

Part of me has to admire the absolute cheek of the company.

The legacy of the STV2 licence which allows them to network across of their local licences in Scotland.

At least STV2 put in SOME effort towards making a decent service.

They haven't even put up a website yet for this. This really is a low-key launch.

Well they probably know nobody's going to watch, they only exist to send their substandard reports to the BBC and get money even though there's not a chance in hell the BBC will use them.

I don't think there is any BBC money for the Scotland stations, is there?

There was money that STV would have been entitled to but they chose not to go for it. I thought that the time during which these subsidies were potentially available had already expired.

While the That's TV Scotland channel(s) might be new services, they're not operating on new licences.
