Former X Factor contestant Chico Slimani has signed a record deal with Sony BMG.

The ex-goatherd will release It's Chico Time next month. Slimani, who is due to take part in an upcoming nationwide tour, said: "The whole thing has been unbelievable. I'm absolutely loving every minute of it, and looking forward to releasing the single at last."

Slimani originates from Morocco, but moved to Crawley in West Sussex at the age of 14. He has previously worked as a hairdresser, an electrical engineer and a stripper.

I really think they've left it too long after the end of X Factor to release this. No-one's interested in him anymore. It's all Chantelle and Preston at the moment.

I reckon Chico Time is already over.

They should have rush released it before Christmas.
It is a catchy song but I think most people have moved on now.

They couldn't. Contractually no other X-Factor contestant was allowed to release anything for a few months until after Shayne whatsisname had released his song.

Yes I heard the devastating news today. Shayne promised not to be a flop, but I haven't seen him around recently. I didn't want him to win, but he's probabably recording. I think he needs to be careful not to fade away, he's folowing Brookstein..

I haven't seen Robbie Williams on TV lately but I don't think he's retired

It's not unusual for the winner to take a break just after a show like that. Apparently Shayne's album is out in March, no doubt he'll be everywhere then. As for Chico, I predict earplug sales going through the roof.

Jeez, if its that easy to get a record deal, I wonder what would happen if I jumped in the Thames, wearing only my boxers, singing Daydream Believer? Nothing...except people thinking i'm a drunken idiot and a trip to the cop shop no less.
