Last night our local programme in London on ITV at 10:30pm had the end cap of A Carlton Production for London. As all regions had there own programme at 10:30pm did any one catch what their region said at the end (e.g was it a X production for Granada or a X production for the North West?)
Also did anyone see at the end of (the ****) Police! at 11, had the end cap a Granada/Carlton Co-production, one step away from that merger surely!

Isn't that standard Carlton practice?

Yes it gets mentioned every week when a few more people see it, its been on 4 weeks now!
It always use to be just 'A Carlton Production' it has never (up to now) mentioned London. Our weather has also been renamed from Carlton Weather and LWT Weather to London Weather.

That happened last September when the new look ITV1 started. Then the names LWT and Carlton were discontinued from on-air use, although (for what it's worth) they still own and operate their particular days of the week.
Officially it's ITV1 London, but on screen it's not called that, just ITV1

Doh! Sorry. I'm never usually up that late on a weeknight. It was still rubbish. If Police! is the best Carlton and Granada can come up with together, god help us.
I don't think I was very clear on my original question. I know all regions are now ITV1, but the local news/weather are they referred to as say, Tyne Tees Weather or is now North East Weather or a Tyne Tees Production for the North East.

Only London is now just ITV1, everyone else still holds on to their regional name on regional material, so its 'Tyne Tees Weather', and 'A Tyne Tees Television Production'
Coinciding with the launch of single-ITV1, Carlton's production captions on programmes only made for a specific region have been:
Carlton production for Central England
Carlton production for the West of England
Carlton production for ITV1 Wales
Carlton production for the Westcountry (it might be West Country, not sure)
So, "Carlton production for London" is hardly a surprise.
Woody-streatham, are you saying that this is new in London (i.e. that the ambiguous "Carlton production" has continued to be used on London-only programming up until your sighting)??????
I may be wrong, but I am almost certain this is the first outing for it. I would have noticed it before if it was on since last sept, and I have seen a quite a few regional programmes. I am quite sad when it comes to things like this. Sorry.
