They also say ITV are considering switching Friday's 3rd place match to ITV1 in the hope to cash in further - and I'm sure most discussion before and after the match will be about the final rather than the match itself.
At the end of last nights coverage it was confirmed that they'd be on air at 7.30pm on Saturday - with extra programmes to be scheduled before hand, but not yet confirmed.

France v Argentina switched to ITV1 on Friday evening from ITV4, starting at 8 p.m.

Doesn't look like anyone told Jim Rosenthal tonight's game wasn't being played at the Stade de France then! Wink

That poor kid didn't want to present that trophy, did he?

Anyhow - right result in the end. Fantastic tournament as a whole, and they get some flak and there may have been a few dodgy decisions, but on the whole ITV Sport have done a fantastic job with the tournament - though I think coverage in the latter stages was only boosted due to England's unexpected presence.

Any news yet on the 2011 rights - I had heard it would be sorted during the tournament.

Ah, poor old England. Good for SA. Smile

Good Tournament overall, ITV have been lucky with it (England making it this far, the final being on Saturday night etc) so they stand to cash right in.

Anyone know the name of the music playing during the presentation?

Harsh result for England, but we've done damn well to get as far as we did, considering no one expected us to get far at all. If only our football team was as good.

Jim Rosenthal was so happy we didn't see an Englishman trying to sabotage the presentation, he decided to tell the country it happened! Wink

Glad they're sticking with this even though England lost - though of course it should have been scheduled accordingly in the first place.

A full and pretty good closing sequence too - and I wonder if the scrolling black credits were just for convenience or a variation of the new ITV ECP?

Oh well, once again it was the press wot jinxed it!

England never wins the football world cup or Euro tournaments because we expect far too much from our players and under that sort of strain they end up crashing out on penalties. When our rugby players won in 2003, they were able to do so because rugby then wasn't the big deal it was this time round. Last night the "come on England" mobs normally associated with football were out in full force and this, coupled with unhelpful front page headlines such as "England expects", placed too much of a burden on our rugby team last night, with predictable results.

England Expects - far too much. That's why we never win anything.

That has to be the biggest rating this year, not even Christmas gets that anymore. Will be interesting to see what the final figures are.
