Later in the evening UTV are showing Scotland v Portugal (k/o 17:00) and Ireland v Namibia (k/o 19:00) which pushes...Britain's Favourite View Live Final to 10.45.
Then how can it be Live? Are they going to do it all again for viewers watching a Grampian signal?
What it means is that UTV viewers will watch the 'Live final' 3 hours later, meaning it won't be live and therefore UTV viewers will be unable to take part.
It was announced last night that the telephone numbers for Britain's Favourite View will be appearing on screen on UTV from 8pm on Sunday and that viewers must vote during the live coverage of the Rugby World Cup because by the time the recorded version is played out the lines will have closed. If the Northern Ireland view hadn't got through to the final I don't think they'd have gone through the bother of doing this.
Jim Rosenthal still doesn't convince as a rugby presenter. Surely it would've made so much more sense to send him to the next couple of Grands Prix and let Rider (ITV's main presenter and established rugby presenter) present what is meant to be a flagship event.
Shock horror! Jim Rosenthal has just refered to UTV and STV by name at the end of the RWC coverage today when talking about tommorows matches.
On last night's UTV Live they played a special Britain's Favourite View VT in which Trevor McDonald also referred to UTV by name and directed viewers to u.tv where they can watch it online!
So that's David Beckham, Trevor McDonald and Jim Rosenthal so far!
