Hope the official titles for the Tokyo Olympics will be just as cool as the RWC ones.

Night Thoughts

Thinking of the reshuffling of London's TV studios over recent years, I was amused to see some of the live action was shot at Elstree & Borehamwood station, just a stone's throw from the film studios and the BBC/ATV centre.

If you try and throw a stone to the studios from Elstree Station, you likely end up putting one of the windows in at the Sainsburys on the corner!
But, I know what you mean.

I'll guess that the live action internal sets were shot on one of the sound stages at the studios as well.

Beautiful set, real floor and virtual back drop Id say. Also has a World Cup 2018 feel to it. Traditional style Japanese rather than modern and high tech for the titles. World in Union better than last time.

Not sure about ITV’s graphics. They look quite bulky which dates them a bit.

On second thoughts I think the backdrops is a real painting with augmented reality at the top of the set to make it appear larger.

Bit of a hiss coming from the studio on the first link.

Watching the event in college.

I'll admit, the set looks quite good. I quite like the 3D backdrop in the background

World feed graphics are nice. That scoreboard is quite big though and there is a lot going!

ITV RWC 2019 titles, far better than Paloma Faith's version 4 years ago.
Brekkie, bkman1990 and Sh1ruba gave kudos

Echo the voices of the studio. It also kinda reminds me of the FIFA World Cup studio used in Russia but yeah it's very good looking and fits well with the theme.

Only watched the game on my phone but that score bug looks way too big and that RWC dog in the bottom right is completely unneccessary.

The titles are a complete recycle of 2011. Which isn't a bad thing.

Love ITV's opening titles this year, so much better than the embarrassment we got 4 years ago with Paloma Faith.

I still always loved ITV's Japan Football World Cup titles back in 2002. Must be something about Japan Very Happy

Nice titles, but that clip hasn't been deinterlaced.
