Similar to NZ in 2011 then they will move to stadium presentation for the knockout games.

Eir have them, It's basically the only Drawing point to Eir Sports. RTE will show 14 matches live, That includes all Ireland Games and all knockout stage games... plus extended highlights every night.

Any Rugby fans that really want to watch the other matches can Watch on ITV anyway... about 65% of houses can still get it, the only place to lose out would be Virgin Media Cable homes mostly in Dublin.


That won't happen this time because Eir Sports is coming back for Virgin Media Ireland Customers with the new Eir Sports pack.

Also what is happening with Ryle Nugent for the RWC in Japan. Will he be with Eir Sport as commentator?

Just a thought..
Is this the first major sporting event/tournament broadcast by ITV, that won't have touched any of the lines or wires in Kent House since it was first opened back in 1972?

I only saw that news the day after I posted. Shocked It's good for Virgin Media as there would have been complaints.

As it was all studio location presentation for that - I'm guessing all the feeds were sent via ITV's MCR at the IBC, straight to Chiswick?

RTÉ had put out a teaser trailer for the Rugby World Cup on RTÉ One this evening. The RTÉ Sport logo came up at the start & the end of the trailer. It looked really good. It showed a fair bit of the sights & scenes of Japan including some footage from older Rugby matches with some statements about the Irish Rugby team in-between. I have yet to find a copy of it on Youtube so I can share it here.
