Usually the generic intro just features an instrumental version of “World in Union” (does that make it “Jupiter” rather than “World in Union” if it has no lyrics?). I’m not sure if anyone other than ITV actually goes to the bother of having someone perform it with lyrics.
It makes it "Thaxted" - composed by Holst for Jupiter and then became a tune in its own right, adapted by Holst to be used by Sir Cecil Spring Rice for I Vow To Thee My Country, borrowed by Charlie Skarbek for World in Union, and then re-used every year since. Charlie Skarbek is, ironically, not a fan of his "original" composition being re-done in various host-venue-reflecting styles. The best version was Hayley Westenra's, followed by Bryn & Shirley. Paloma Faith really was the nadir.
It's not just Japan's version, it's THE official version, which is much better than Paloma's. Why ITV have to do their own thing I've no idea.
S4C's Welsh language coverage of RWC 2015 used the generic intro in which World In Union barely surfaces but is still, just about, there.
I think it is mandated now anyone covering the tournament uses World in Union as their theme.

Turns out Japan has their own version too, sung by singer Kiyoe Yoshioka, vocalist of the popular Japanese pop rock Ikimono-gakari. Enjoy.

I would be quite surprised, he’s not been a regular fixture on 5 Live for some time.
I'd imagine he'll lead the 5 Live presentation.

No, it means there will be a greatly improved daytime schedule.
Please excuse me if this sounds stupid, but does the early match times mean there will be a diminished Daytime schedule?

Its not as big an issue as it seems. Back in the days of F1 it worked happily and now in an era where ITV plc owns pretty much everything bar STV, it shouldn't be a problem now. If this was the 1980s then yeah okay it could have been interesting but TV-am shoved the ITV Telethons through their "patch" (for want of a better term) so something could have been worked out.

The itv / stv issue comes through this a couple of times and the issue of the 925 switch see earlier posts - presumerably already worked out though, so the scheduling is as effortless as normal

No need to guess - the schedule is posted on the previous page.
Guessing that 1 or 2 GMbs will be curtailed. The 925 programme will be missed and quite often this morning and loose Women may not happen and the news might be late and shorter than normal as well. Itv 4 will also be affected as well
