Unsure if UTV produced any of their own coverage in 1999 but if they did it would have been Stephen Watson's last work for them before moving to BBC NI. UTV certainly did their own presentation in 2003 & 2007, 2003 had Adrian Logan with Nigel Carr & Geordan Murphy who was injured at the time with Stewart Robson commentating although he worked for network ITV so unsure whether they did their own commentary or not. 2007 they redressed their UTV Live studio and had Logan again with David Humphreys, Justin Harrison & Tyrone Howe and this time they took ITV commentary but had UTV Sport dog on screen the whole time. This year UTV opted out to have a few preview shows entitled UTV in Japan but like the last 2 World Cups when UTV was not owned by ITV they didn't produce their own coverage.

The last time STV had their own pres for any Scotland game at RWC was a 05:15 kick off in 2003. Jim Delahunt hosted from Glasgow, and STV actually took the world feed, not the ITV commentary. I got up for that game, and it was interesting to note that STV had no studio pundits, so at half time, Jim Delahunt did all the analysis, and gave out fixtures coming up. Not a bad effort from a man whose first sporting love is Horse Racing!

STV also provided their own coverage for Scottish games in 2007. I can't remember the name of the presenter. He was possibly an ex-player?

Would've most likely been either Andy Nicol or Scott Hastings. When STV had the Scottish FTA highlights rights to what's now the Pro14, the former hosted the coverage, with occasional commentary from the latter on Scottish teams matches.

It's just come back to me. It was Richie Gray. He also presented STV's Scotsport Rugby Sunday, also in 2007.

Didn't know ITV were showing team line-ups during breaks, had one for Ireland at the end of Emmerdale.

Yes, they've done it for both the England games so far. Got the time wrong though as the announcer said it was tomorrow morning when in fact it is Saturday.

Thought they might have put the England highlights on ITV a bit earlier tonight rather than airing a repeat first after the News at Ten. Yes, they're on ITV4 at 7pm but a 10.45pm slot would before the Jonathan Ross repeat would surely have delivered more ad revenue in the 11pm hour than the Jonathan Ross repeat followed by the rugby highlights.

ITV Wales again doing their own highlights on Sunday with an hour long show at 8pm, meaning Millionaire is bumped to Tuesday at 9pm, though they are airing the repeat on Sunday night at 11.15pm. IIRC on Sunday the network rugby highlights are in the 10.15pm slot, which ITV Wales are still showing. Scrum V airing an hour-long World Cup special, presumably with no actual game footage, at 6pm as well.

May have happened earlier in the week but ITV now dropped their own DOG and moved the ITV Sport DOG top right.

I think ITV captioned the wrong commentator for the Argentina-Tonga match. Simon Ward was down doing it but it sounded more like Martin Gillingham.

Looks a lot better, it definitely felt squashed in on the top left. Don’t know why they’re using a stacked version still though.

The DOG was AWOL for a while, but as you say, it's now the bright ITV Sport one is in its place. Unfortunately, this sits under STV's pale DOG making it look a little bit of a mess. No UTV one.

The DOG had to move, once they realised that should the 'home' side get a red or yellow card, the indication thereof would have been obscured by it, in it's original position.

Some technical problems for Japan v Ireland this morning on RTÉ at any rate with the feed from Japan being lost at several times. Then, someone decided to push the button for a replay wipe at the crucial moment when Japan intercepted the ball around the 77 min mark, ending Ireland’s last attack.
