The presentation in general feels disjointed. Some graphics feature heavy, 3D style shading; others are flat. Some break bumpers are focused on ordinary people performing everyday tasks rugby style, then you have Chris Robshaw standing in a CGI stadium with his number crudely added in post. You have a settled team straight from BT Sport in the commentary box, then you cut to an out of place looking Johnny Wilkinson and a surprisingly un-insightful Woodward in the studio.
What annoyed me the most though was that the graphic design team obviously doesn't care about overscan. The scoreboard looked like it was about to topple off the top of the screen.
To be fair they're showing far more games on ITV than usual - think it's just 9 on ITV4 this time IIRC, though absolutely agree this is one I'd have liked to have been on the main channel, along with New Zealand v Tonga which gets bumped due to the football.
My main annoyance is they've moved the final, semi-finals and a quarter final to 4pm to accomodate it - originally all were due at 8pm. I can understand their reasons but I think 6pm would have been a fair compromise - and it would give them something to hit Strictly with too.
Also annoying most of the midweek games are in daytime rather than primetime - there is nothing really on Wednesday nights ITV couldn't give up.
It's more an issue of consistency. Practically every network places their DOG and other graphics within the overscan safe zone, leaving a nice clean border around the outside. By moving e scoreboard outside of that they've ensured it will look messy everywhere in the world.
